Superbe emplacement loin des touristes, je crois qu'il n'y a que 8 chambres, c'est hôtel ressemble plus à une chambre d’hôte qu'un hôtel. Efli la maîtresse de maison est aux petits soins, elle prépare un déjeuner délicieux, donne des bons conseils et elle est vraiment très sympathique. La chambre est simple mais propre avec une vue sur la mer et les maisons traditionnelles. Nous avons fait le tour de la crête et je pense que c'est un bon emplacement pour visiter toute la côte Ouest, notamment pour ses plages de sable blanc et la baie de Balos, et surtout loin de la concentration touristique ! Je recommande sans hésitation !

"We really enjoyed"
My husband and i just spent 9 nights in Kaliviani Hotel. Gianni and his mother made us feel like home! This small and cozy hotel is in the middle of olive trees with a very nice panoramic sea view on the harbor. The hotel has 5 rooms, all with balcony. We were given a triple room, making our stay even more comfortable. The room was very clean, with clean towels and bed linen every one-two days. There were air conditioning, TV, fridge, Wi-Fi connection. The hotel offers a free pc for the guests. The breakfast was gorgeus, prepared freshly every morning(orange juice, eggs, coffee, tea or cappuccino e.t.c) and served directly by the owner. It was much more than we could eat !!!
We found this hotel very convenient as a starting point to visit Gramvoussa and Balos beach, being located at the beginning of the road that brings you to this beautiful beach. If you go there by car, be prepared to a challenging 1 hour drive!!But the view and the beach worth the trip!
In 20 minutes you can reach Falasarna, another beach you can't miss! We went there for 5 days!! To reach Elafonissi beach, intstead, the trip is about 45 minutes. Another visit that we enjoy is Paleochora.
You can always ask Gianni, that provide all suggestions to the best places to visit from here.We spent some evenings in Chania, that is very nice to visit and it is full of tavernas, pubs, shops and some other evenings in Kissamos, that is not turistic city but it has some nice tavernas and bars too.
We would like to thank again Gianni and his family to contribute to our wonderful vacation and in case we will visit again that part of Crete we will find the time to visit them again!!

"This hotel is our idea of heaven”
Kaliviani Traditional Hotel is, in our minds, just perfect. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived and everything was immaculate even though this was the first day they were open for the season. Giannis and his mother take great pride in providing exactly what the visitor wants and have lots of information about the area. Every room has a sea view and is very comfortable. Can't wait to go back in July with our friends.

“ Great little hotel and staff ”
Have just come back from a two nights stay at Kaliviani. If you want a get away from it all type stay, yet near to some great beaches. Then this is your place.
The hotel may not have a 5 star location by a beach or swimming pool, but if you want a slice of real Cretan hospitality then it has it all. The rooms are spotless, the food delicious, the staff delightful, and waking up to the shepherd taking his sheep/goats past our room in the morning, surreal! Only slight downside was the lack of like minded guests to share a late evening drink or 2 in the Garden Bar which with swinging Hammocks, mood lighting and jazz music in the background was a great place to chill out.

“A holiday that had it ALL!!!”
Few places combined all the things I enjoyed in Kaliviani.
Most notable were the location with great views to the sea and mountains.
The taverna in Kaliviani Rooms is one of the few places you can have pure homemade Greek food (the real thing!!!).
I would also recommend for nature walks/trekking.
If you plan to visit the Balos Beach Lagoon, this is the ideal location to stay.
Short drive to many nice beaches. Careful to choose the right one according to wind direction.
Also, many nice dive shops and dive locations in the area.

“An Exciting place to be”
Me and my wife traveled to Crete last April. We stayed at kaliviani Hotel for approximately 8 days during which we experienced pleasant and helpful staff, comfortable, airy rooms a remarkable view from the windows. The restaurant served excellent quality food and drinks and we were astonished to try some of the local traditional dishes. We had an extremely good time and our stay was more than satisfying. We have already recommended the place to some friends in US and we are thinking to return in a year or two. Please keep it perfect!

“A Rare bird”
Kaliviani hotel is that rare bird on Crete island - a small (5 rooms) family run hotel that hasn't decked itself out in feathers of tasteless luxury.
I have arrived to the tiny but scenic village of Kaliviani as an overnight guest (had spent 2 days in Elafonissi which is quite near and was heading to Chania), took one look at the bedroom, the view and the restaurant menu and decided on the spot to stay two nights. If I could, I would have settled in for a month!
The room was large, well furnished and impeccably cleaned, with its own balcony overlooking the sea. The scenic simply idyllic, the atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful -perfect for family vacations in Crete- but also charming and seductive. If you want a romantic getaway, there is something magic about Kaliviani hotel in Chania that cannot be described, only experienced. But what sets this hotel ahead of every other I have stayed, was the warm hospitality of Giannis and Eftihia - from the very first moment I arrived, I was made to feel special.
To make a long story short, I don't know of any better place to sit and watch the golden sunset on the sea, sipping draught beer and looking forward to a hearty dinner, gramboussian lamb cooked with sage and honey.

“Relaxing experience in western Crete in a beautiful small hotel”
Good food, great bar at night and lovely staff.
The location is fabulous near Balos beach, Falasarna and the owners are really nice and take good care of their guests with delighted meals and a great garden bar is probably the only night spot in this part of the Crete island. Great!!!

“A Magical Honeymoon”
Kaliviani Hotel is as honeymoon-perfect as it gets. A drop-dead gorgeous sea view, ultra attentive staff, bright and comfortable rooms with beds perfect for staying in, romantic candlelit dinners for two on the restaurant's wonderful veranda and an amazing bar for chilling out.
Our honeymoon was magical thanks to you! We will try to return next year.

“A wonderful, really pleasant stay”
We had an extremely good time in Kaliviani Hotel in Crete. The service was excellent, the place clean and the view astonishing. The hotel is located in a small but picturesque village, the building is modern but made to look traditional. The rooms are spacey and the furniture comfortable. We dine din the restaurant many times, food was nicely cooked and included traditional Cretan dishes. There was also a nice bar for cool drinks.
We knew that Crete is for sure one of the best holidays location to be in summer and Kaliviani Hotel proved to be the best place for our stay We are surely coming back next year, I wish you can keep the same level of quality in your hotel in Chania. Thanks for the wonderful service offered!

“The perfect setting for a holiday to remember”
Sitting at the edge of a hill in the small picturesque village of Kaliviani, Kaliviani hotel is attractive on account of its simplicity. During our tour of Western Crete, me and my friends were told about it as a nice hotel near Balos Lagoon, so we booked our rooms there.
Kaliviani hotel in Chania proved to be beyond our expectations.
The rooms boast a cozy rustic feel in the interior and view to an infinity of sea and sky bluer than in any dream- what a view first thing in the morning!
For us, recuperating from one excursion and planning the next, it had been an indispensable staging post.
Its restaurant serves a high standard of traditional Cretan cuisine at a very reasonable price in a delightful authentic setting; tables and chairs are situated outside on the grand terrace surrounded by colorful flowers. The warmth and hospitality of the staff is touching and adds even more to the attractiveness of the whole establishment.
What is more? Well, its outstanding characteristic is the bar, the garden bar.
There, in an enchanting atmosphere, sheltered by the trees, surrounded by paintings and pieces of art expressing various scenes from different countries, lying on one of the hammocks and gazing into the vastness of the starry sky, you can enjoy music from all over the world and feel so far away from everything..
Definitely, a place to go back to and we will!

“A magnificent place of the end of the world”
Pleasant and soft accrual. The truth good holidays in Crete. The cooking is delicious, especially the yogurt in the honey and the Mountain tea! Rooms are unpretentious and comfortable. It is also the first hotel with a valid internet connection in spite of the visit of several 4-star hotels. Lost in the Cretan West, the Kaliviani hotel is to be discovered.

“Amazing Stay!! Thank you very much”
It was the best vacations i had for the past few years. Giannis and his family were more than friends to us and the facilities were excellent.
The best feeling was the way they made us feel during our stay, the amazing food of Mrs Eftihia and a unique bar that you wouldn't find even in the biggest city.

“A relaxed family-run small hotel”
This beautifully kept hotel has wonderful views over the bay about one km away. The large sunny terrace is full of flowering plants. Our room was just above the terrace with a balcony overlooking a panorama of sea and mountains. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was fresh and delicious. The goat was especially sweet and succulent. Service was relaxed and attentive. Our only regret was that we had not settled up the night before we left as we had wanted an early departure but the hotel reception did not open until 9am when breakfast also began. We'll definitely return.

Amazing stay!!!I It was the best vacations we had for the past few years. If I could, I would have settled in for a month, we booked only for one night but finally we stayed 3 nights. The facilities of the hotel were excellent, free wi-fi was needed to us. The owners of this hotel were more than friends to us and the location perfect to visit balos, falasarna beach and all western Crete. The view from our balcony simply idyllic, the atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful. We will miss the amazing food of Mrs Eftihia. We can’t wait to come again. Thank you.

“Un tuffo nell'atmosfera della vita di Creta”
Estrema gentilezza del personale, posizione tranquilla, con bel panorama sul mare, ottima e abbondante colazione, da gustare con calma, camere fresche e silenziose, arredamento allegro e semplice, piatti eccellenti, con porzioni molto abbondanti, a prezzi contenuti. Vantaggioso rapporto qualità/prezzo. Ottima posizione per raggiugere la meravigliosa spiaggia di Balos.

“Angenehmer Aufenthalt in entspannter Atmosphäre”
Ruhige, idyllische Lage mit schönem Ausblick und sehr gepflegter Anlage. Nur einen Katzensprung von der Piratenbucht und von dem langen Sandstrand von Falassarna entfernt. Netter, zuvorkommender und engagierter Familienbetrieb. Moderne und sehr saubere Zimmer. Sehr gutes Essen und außergewöhnlich gutes Frühstück sowie sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

“Ein kleines Hotel zum Wohlfühlen”
Das Hotel hat nur 5 Zimmer und liegt im gleichnamigen sehr ruhigen Örtchen am Fusse der Gramvousa-Halbinsel etwa 10 km von Kissamos-Kastelli im Nordwesten Kretas. Die Zimmer sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet und bieten allen Komfort: A/C, TV, Kühlschrank, Fön und einen Balkon mit grandioser Aussicht aufs Meer. Internet ist per WLAN kostenlos verfügbar. Das Restaurant mit seiner schönen Terrasse offeriert außer Frühstück auch mittags und abends viele schmackhafte Gerichte zu sehr akzeptablen Preisen. Es herrscht eine zwanglose familiäre Atmosphäre.
Empfehlen kann ich den Schiffsausflug nach Imeri Gramvouse - eine venezianische Festung auf einer Insel - und Balos Beach - ein Lagunenstrand wie man ihn nur in der Südsee erwartet..
Schöne Ausflüge kann man auch nach Falassarna und Polirrinia unternehmen.
