Like Kaliviani village only few places left in the world, as is away from everything but with everyhting you need. This small traditional and peacefull settlement situaded only 5 minutes driving west of Kissamos(Kasteli), on the route to reach the magnificent blue lagoon namely, Balos, which situaded on the other side of the Gramvousa peninsula, just a 9 kilometres distance driving or walking from our village.

Our Hotel in Chania is in the geographical center of the west coast of Crete. This “strategic” position as well as the proximity to the towns of Chania and Kissamos has served many of our guests as a perfect base point for exploring all the regional attractions.

Our hotel refrains just 900 metres away from the beach and is situated in an area with a perfect combination of mountain, plain and sea. Not missing anything from city hotels in Crete and away from the bustling cities, suffocated in summer.

In the area there are many small coves with beautiful beaches, the nearest beach to the village is called ''pachia ammos'' and is ideally to spend some time having your bath.
Kaliviani is split in two parts, the 'old' and the 'new' village. Kaliviani is a very popular place to locals whener they escape of their jobs to have lunch or dinner at the beautiful taverns and cafes which serves Cretan dishes and to walk through the traditional village and it's narrow paved streets.
Many of the travelers who pass from Kaliviani they spend at least couple of days staying in the village, enjoying their holidays in a very peaceful and anti-stress location in west Crete.

Kissamos is the nearest town from our hotel. Just 5km away, Kissamos or Kastelli is a very beautiful, non-touristic town with a population of about 10,000 habitants. In Kissamos you will find, restaurants, cafeterias, supermarkets, banks, post office, rental services, information desks, taxi service, internet service and bus station with a service on the hour to Chania, which connects the whole of Crete. Every year, thousands of visitors who come to Creta, pass by the village Kaliviani to visit the most popular and beautiful beach which is situated in the peninsula Gramvousa.

Balos beach.
A panorama which is distinguished on peninsula Gramvousa is Balos Blue Lagoon with the astonishing colors of its waters with all the shades of blue and green. Over the Balos beach, the sun sinks slowly on the steep side slope of the peninsula of the Gramvousa, creating one of the most spectacular sun set. Kaliviani hotel is in the starting point to visit Balos beach.

Elafonissi beach.
One of the island’s most beautiful beaches, Elafonisi, is located on the southwest of Crete. Elafonisi is a piece of paradise. Elafonisi island is very close to the beach and you can reach it on foot. Elafonisi refrains only 45 minutes from our hotel, and you can find also taverns for your lunch. On the beach you will find cantinas for refreshments and snacks.

Falassarna beach.
That great beach lies in northwest Crete, Falassarna is considered to be one of the most beautiful and long beaches in Crete. Along Falasarna beach there are many cantinas, umbrellas and other services. Falassarna has thick white sand with turquoise crystal waters, and the most beautiful sunsets in the island of Crete. Falassarna refrains only 10 minutes driving from our hotel.

Crete on Greece has many places you can visit on foot or by car to admire the wild beauty. The variations of nature, animals, birds and water make a great picture that is worth to walk around them. You will find many beautiful vast sand beaches, clear blue sea and unique landscapes.


Driving directions:
Kaliviani Hotel is 62 km west of Chania international airport. Take the national road E 75/65 Chania-Kissamos with a direction to the west from Chania. After 38 Km and when you reaching Kissamos just go past it for another 2 km to the west of Crete. At that point you should see Kissamos port (Kavonisi) on your right. From there on you can follow the signs to the hotel. Drive another 2 km after the port and take a right turning at the signs to Kaliviani village or Kaliviani traditional rooms and then a left turning about 50 m away .The road will lead you directly to the hotel. Entering the village, follow our sings, Kaliviani traditional rooms, which will direct you to our hotel. You can’t miss it!
